just a quickie..
I won 1st place in a local IASCA competetion (SQ) last saturday.. I don't know what they are doing with their categories, or if my regional rep is crazy, but my class was pro 1800w+. same as the spl comps.
wasn't this formerly known as ultra pro or ultra X ???
anyway it was kinda fun to get back into things.. been awhile since I last attended one of these. I wasn't happy with the 45+Hz SPL cd they had.. I had 5 guys that competed that I did their install, and they were in the upper 140's at 32-34Hz, but with their mike and CD, they were only hitting 138-141dB. Not only was this BS, but I am afraid they will think I let them down. But my sanctioned $ .50 trophy (seriously, it weighs 6 oz) is supposed to make up for it.
Some of my guys took home trophies in show, so that somewhat made up for the crap they call a bass CD.

Congrats on the 1st place CLAP Its allways a good time to go to a competition, even more fun when you place high haha. The SPL section you could only burp with a test CD that played 45hz +? Thats pretty damn stupid considering some trucks are hitting 150's in the 30hz range. I know of one Chevy Extended cab here in my city that was metered at 154dB and that was at 30hz to be exact Maybe the sponsors of the show were smoking the whacky tabacky when they were preparing the Test CD's? I'm assuming they were using the TermLab to get the dB reading, its not a very flatterying mic, very stiff.

We'll congrats again on the 1st place! Rock on
