Clif Designs. Anyone know what this brand is like? http://www.parallelimported.co.nz/search.php?mid=1&m2id=3&cache=628740&main_category=Car+Audio&category=Speakers&make=Clif+Designs&ap_list=Select+product Replies (12) asplundher on 11/11/2005 15:39:09 They used to be one of the top brands awhile back. Haven't heard anything on them for a long time, but the way they are priced I hope they are still worth it. Nowadays it's hard to tell unless you "properly" audition some because marketing is a @#$%&^#$%! (sorry, gotta be frank). Marketing can break a good brand as well as hype up bad ones. Try looking up some reviews on that particular series and if you can't find some, then I wouldn't suggest a trial & error at that price. That is unless you have plenty bucks to burn and don't mind taking a chance on losing out. swez on 11/11/2005 18:19:47 Yes, Clif is well regarded in the UK as a top notch player in high SQ audio. Their prices sure do indicate they believe in their products and technology. I looked briefly for some e-pinions and found nothing of interest. However, their web site is so understated, it leads me to think they are indeed quality products. Just look at their Promo Bus, press releases and of coarse... Cynthialea, their 2004-05 pitch gal. She is knock down gorgeous! Swez JMB on 11/11/2005 21:18:33 Swez and Cynthialea up a tree...........LOL swez on 11/12/2005 06:03:45 K.I.S.S.I.N.G. 1ST comes luv, Then comes marriage. Ain't gonna be no Swez, push a baby carriage I did my "tour of duty" already and have 2 great kids as well. Nuff said! It's good to see some fellow humorists in the crowd... Swez ttocs on 11/12/2005 11:49:06 you could try viagra ya know...... swez on 11/12/2005 12:51:37 Don't need any Viagra dude. The pea (pee) shooter works just fine. I think we need Mr. B to weigh in on this subject. (Where is that guy when you need him anyway?) Uhmmm, does it do any good to have lead in the pencil, if we don't a partner to write to? That's OK after being married a few years. Just ask Elaine Bobbitt. That gal really knew how to tell her hubby "NO MORE SUGAR FOR YOU PAL.... EVER !!! " Swez MrBrownstone on 11/13/2005 00:34:37 For the dearly Beloved We are gathered here today to remember our dear brutha, Dr Swez. Prior to him becoming neutered, he actually laid more pipe in Motown than the Teamsters. Now, he's no longer in service. Time, weather, the elements all have taken a toll on this Metal Dinosaur. Withering away, only to be saved by the Rustoleum we know as Cialis. Let me tell ya, if he has an erection longer than 4 hours, his doctor is that last person he'll be calling. Sheeet, he'll be calling everyone to brag about it. The first person he'll be callin is the preacha man. "There is a God!! I've Seen the light!!!" Being so surprised that it not only worked, but it stayed on shift long enough to deserve a lunch break is something he hasn't experience since Lincoln was President. Now getting back to Swez and Cynthia Lee. I don't think a man of his age is going to get any woman 'sittin in a tree' unless she's a coon and he had another 'bloodhound' chasing it up there for him. :-) In fact, I don't think Swez and any reference to the word WOOD should be mentioned in the same sentence. Maybe bamboo, or toothpick, or perhaps balsa... As far as 'lead in the pencil', wouldn't it be more fitting if we refered to him as lead in the arse? or 'in the brain' ? Lastly, Clif is a quality product. Always remember that the top of the line products cost the most. Focal's top 2 lines are very expensive, but are superb products. Their bottom 2 lines, mediocre at best. JMB on 11/13/2005 00:44:15 Soooooo....... your the legndary Mr B. I take my hat off to you sir. swez on 11/13/2005 05:29:55 Well now, speak of the devil and look who shows up? Good to see ya ol man. How ya be? Neutered? Let's talk pal... they neuter pets, not people. Women get their tube tied and men have vasectomies. Both are a sign that they "don't even want" the opportunity of getting a phone call some day saying... "Hey honey... I have not seen you in a while, but I'm now prego and you be the daddy". NOT !!! Up a tree... BTDT, why not? This is my first year back into fly fishing and lemme tell ya, I've seen a few trees (up close and personal) this year. They're everywhere and then some. Retrieving ones' preciously hand tied favorites, can be real challenging in the dark. Especially in the deep undercuts and log jams, where the big fiddies hang out. Yep, had a few close calls, stepping into those heavy log jams to set a "wooly bugger" free from its moorings or reaching up (like 10 feet) to pull a stray cast out of the trees. (hate when that happens) But, it's all part of the game! (A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do) In all, this has been a great first season though. Landed several very nice smallmouth bass, a few nice bull heads and even a walleye. Looking forward to some Steelhead fishing later this year and next spring. These babies are feisty, strong and can peel out 100 yards of line in matter of seconds. An 8-10 pound male, is a real challenge on a medium weight rig. Keeping them out of the log jams and fast waters are tricky. We'll see how things shape up later this month and next. Lead in arse? You bet! Keeps one from floating away in deep, fast water runs. The last trip out, water was very high and fast from recent rains. Don't mind wading in 3 feet (just shy of 1 meter) of flow, but when one finds themselves in a deep pocket and a strong flow, it's good to have a little extra lead in the arse. One gets a feel for how "bouyancy factors" come into play, when we get into a 4 foot flow and water is moving at 30 ft^3/sec., or more. That's kinda spooky in the dark too. Anyway, good to see the wise cracker back at CK. You must be psychic or something??? Dr. Swez JMB on 11/13/2005 14:20:35 Mmmmmm......... nothing like a nice freshly smoked trout fillet. i havent been out on the river for a while. our local river has tones of rainbows in the 1-3lb range with a few bigger older wiser hard to catch brownies lurking in there. Be careful in the water there Swez. How much is a fishing licence worth over there, here we get a year for about $200NZ/$140US its insane cheap, plus some of the best fishing in the world. swez on 11/13/2005 15:21:32 Much cheaper fishing license here in Michigan. About $30.00 USD for a 1 year, all species. If non-trout and salmoides, the $15.00/yr. Yeah, this is my first year back to the fly rod in 25 years or so. Have done a lot of spinning gear stuff, the past 8 - 10 years though. Michigan has the 5 Great Lakes and Lake St.Clair too. Plenty of trout, Coho, Chinook, King Salmon and Lake trout available. Then, we have some quality trout streams to the north as well. Brookies, Browns, Rainbow are common and good size to them as well. Then, come the inland lakes for panfish, bass, pike, muskie, walleye, perch, carp, bullhead, catfish and suckers. In short, if you like fishing for fresh water species, Michigan has a wide assortment of options via streams, rivers, ponds, lakes and big waters. Here's a link to the more common fish species we have in Michigan. There are other species not included as they are not considered game fish per-se. http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364_18958---,00.html Tight-lines, Swez MrBrownstone on 11/13/2005 19:28:50 Hey Swez, greetings all I've been busy since moving to Mexifornia. Basically, I got here and took the world by light breeze (vs by storm). I've had to bounce around, 2times, to find a good company to work for. Since getting here, I've been a poker degenerate as the companies I've sampled were quite lame. In a sales environment, there are 2 types of companies: 1. Ones that give 100% leads, with Low commissions 2. Ones that give 0% leads, with HIGH commissions To date, I haven't found one with a decent balance. Right now, I've been offered a couple of branch manager job @ start ups, however, most of them are truly 'start ups' and I'd be assuming most of the risk. The time is now for closing and consolidating branches, while some companies are expanding. What they should be doing is buying up marginally profitable companies, then salvaging a discounted percentage of employees and branches. By market estimation, 50% of branches have closed since 2003, and another 25% (total of 75%) of branches should be closed next year. Volume is so low, there's no point expanding. Getting an increasing share of a dying market is basically a bad proposition. You can be the #1 typewriter salesman for IBM, but that industry is long gone in the 1970s. Not that mortgages are going out of business, but the need for 75% of the staff in the game since 2003 is not necessary. At any rate, gotta run. More humor later as Swez leaves the door wide open. PS if anyone new is wondering, I grill Swez because we are friends, not because I mean to hurt his feelings. I'll save that for the women in his life. PSPS I would have used VIAGRA, but they have requested that i stop using their likeness and reference since I don't have any problems with the product. Rafael Palmeiro may have been using penile steroids, but I don't need them. PSPSPMS Swez, the mind is strong but the body is weak. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
