my parents are in town visiting this week. Got up this morning and they were watching some kind of political BS on cnn. I went online for a bit and read about that tornado in the midwest. That is my home town where my parents and brother still live. Everyone I know so far is ok. Lost a roof on a friends house, and they just showed his house on msnbc. Its strange recognizing places from the news helecoptor. They have not showed the mobil home park it hit. My buddy was driving by as he was on the phone with me, said it looks like a war zone. they also said that the horse track my brother works at got hit hard. They lost part of the grandstand, and a couple of barns, and a few horses.... Replies (2) swez on 11/6/2005 11:54:29 Yikes, that is too close for comfort. Tornados in November are pretty rare in the Midwest. But then again, EVV is pretty far south and can barely be considered midwest. Hope your friends and other family members are OK. It's good that your parents came to visit at this time huh? Swez ttocs on 11/7/2005 09:38:06 phone lines were all messed up so it took most of the day to get ahold of everyone. my brother was home and a couple of miles away, but the house was fine. My friends dad said he woke up on the floor, with a horrable racket, and no roof. When he saw the bed get sucked out he ran down the hall and then said it all ended... I think that would flip me out pretty badly. His whole block and the church across the street looks like a big eraser came through... Everyone I have talked to is shook up but safe thankfully.
