Just would like some input on what you all feel is the best way of facing a sub enclosure in a trunk. I have 2 10" Kicker CVR Comps in a ported enclosure which I have placed near the back seat and facing toward the back of the trunk. I'm wondering if there would be any noticable improvement if I were to place the enclosure nearest to the rear of the trunk and have the subs facing the seats. I don't have a long enough speaker wire to try this, so thats why I'm asking you all if any benefits could be had by doing this. I have my amp mounted on a plywood board on the back seat so that would have some more room to breath if I were to do this. I have yet to apply my Dynamat, but would this set-up help in reducing the trunk/tail light rattle ? Any improved sound ? Thanks on advance... I think I'll leave the subs as is. BgDustin4 on 11/6/2005 09:25:48 ya keep em facing back lessismorespl on 11/7/2005 13:22:30 I think you may find this very interesting, in some cases, facing to the rear of the trunk is best, however, there are variables to this. Not all cars are the same, so you have to move them around to see what works best for you. http://www.installer.com/tech/aiming.html http://www.installer.com/tech/aiming2.html Reading this is not only entertaining, but makes some great points on aiming your enclosure. I find my subs sounhd best aimed towards the rear of the trunk centered equally between the rear seat and the front of the trunk. less Victor on 11/7/2005 14:25:48 Yeah, sorry i forgot to mention the other link on the same site.. Usually it is noticed that the subs facing the rear sound the best, but different cars have different acoustic properties, it is best to experiment and see what sounds the best. I have changed the sub aiming from "facing the rear " to facing the seats in a few installs i have done. There is no harm in experimenting the sub orientation. Victor..
