I am in the market for a new HU. I was wondering what all of you thought of the Alpine CDA-7897. It caught my eye. Any help would be excellent. Unfortunately, the 7897 and the 7998 have had some reliability problems with the motorized face. If it were up to me, I'd go for the 9811, 9813, or the 9815. They have most of the features of the other two, but they're a normal sized detachable face. The following (rediculously long) link is a 3 way comparison between the 3 Alpine decks I recommend. http://www.circuitcity.com/compare.jsp?oid=69694&oid=69695&oid=70601&catoid=-8864&department=Car+Electronics&category=CD+and+Cassette+Car+Stereos&cattotal=52&page=1&compare_items.y=1&compare_items.x=26&hdENTERed=no&qp=0&sort=Price&fv=8039&fv=0&fv=0&caller=searchresults.jsp&c=1&b=g&strBackURL=searchresults.jsp%3fcatoid%3d-8864%26department%3dCar%2bElectronics%26category%3dCD%2band%2bCassette%2bCar%2bStereos%26cattotal%3d52%26page%3d1%26hdENTERed%3dno%26sort%3dPrice%26fv%3d8039%26fv%3d0%26fv%3d0 Phill_Da_Agony on 07/24/2003 16:04:56 That was on of my main worries that the moterized face would bring longevity issues to the table. That's to bad, it was one on the reasons i liek the deck so much. Thanks for the suggestions. ttocs on 07/24/2003 16:44:14 they didn't have many problems with the motorized screens... But I am not familiar with the new ones. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
