I like the sound of my existing system (kenwood deck and factory speakers, no external amp) but would like to add a applified sub box without interefering with the exixsting system. There are no sub outs from the deck (KDC-MP228) just front and right left and rears. Thanks for your suggestions.

Most amplified sub enclosures have a speaker level tap for the input side of the amp. Simply adding some wire from the rear deck speakers and a power and ground cable will get you some bass.

Some of the better kits will detect incoming speaker signals and turn on the amp w/o a remote wire feeder. Others require a REMote turn on feed from the HU.

Power wise, don't need a lot of power in this bass system as aftermarket HU's don't have much more than 18-24 watts (RMS) power to speakers. Figure 100 watts RMS will be plenty.

Brands to consider: Look here for ideas

NOTE: This HU has one pair of RCA outs if you wish to use them. They can be used to feed a sub amp. (recommended)
