I recently burnt out the wiring in my sub. so i decided to buy a new sub and a new amp. I then found out that i could repair my sub by just soldering a wire from the voice coil to the post. So now instead of connecting the old sub and putting it in my car i decided to try and install it in my room using my home stereo. I figured out how to get a 12-14V power supply running to my amp. But i still have not figured out where i connect the remote wire to turn on the amp. Let me know if anyone has any ideas.

A common 12 VDC power supply (wall wart) will provide adequate voltage to fire up your REM on the HU.

"Wall wart" = those little power transformers we use to power small electronic devices like cordless phone chargers, calculators and elecronic games.

Another option would be to run a small jumper wire from the amps' Pos power lug, to a small switch, then to REM. Fuse it with a 0.5 - 1.0A inline fuse to be on the safe side.
