Ok, Im new to this but I can learn fast... Need some help and suggestions.... I'm trying to figure out what is better 1 ohms or 4 ohms in a sub? If I remember correctly from in school 1 ohms would be the better choice for a few reasons but does that apply to car audio also?? And I was wondering if someone can name me a good brand that alot of peeps don't know about.... I kinda want to start my own little fab with this car I have. A few can do 1 ohm loads too. Just depends on what subs you go for. I looked up your car and it has an 85 ampere ALT stock. I would guess the BAT is 500-550 CCA rated as well. If you run amplifiers that draw much over 50A in total, your electricals will need to be upgraded as well. That could drive the cost up about $600.00 in addition to the gear you buy. Are you prepared to make that step? Swez asplundher on 10/23/2005 11:38:44 Good Point. You seem to be running along the same line as gabrield21. In your case 4 ohm will be better. It will be less expensive and require less power. Then it will leave you more room to upgrade to a 2 ohm load setup if needed. The 1 ohm will be more complex in choosing components and quite pricey as well. ubernewbie on 10/23/2005 21:30:16 Can i be a seperate battery? to run my amp(s) off of and not run it off my car's battery?
