Hey guys! You've helped me tons in the past, and I'm hopin you can help me out again. What I'm trying to be able to do is play my MP3 player through my car stereo without using an FM modulator. The HU is a Sony (not sure of the exact model #...its a couple years old and the box and such is a couple hours away at my house). It doesn't have an auxiilary input, but it does have an input for a CD changer (it says BUS audio input). I bought a Monster cable that is an RCA - headphone thinking I could just plug that into the audio in and be fine. I was wrong. There's another input in the back that is for "CD Changer control." Do I need something to plug in there to fool the HU into thinking there's a changer hooked up to it? With just the audio cable plugged in, I couldnt even find a way to switch my HU to a changer function. It would just go back and forth between Radio and CD. I'm thinking if there's a cable plugged into the control slot, it will think there's a changer hooked up, but then I just control the tracks and such from my MP3 player. I know this may be a bit confusing...but I can't think of any better way to describe it. Im really hoping someone out there knows what I'm talking about and can help me out! I have thousands of songs on my MP3 player that I would love to be able to play in my car, but I dont wanna lose quality with an FM modulator. I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks guys!! The kit comes with controller harness and a plug in module as well. Not sure how expensive they can be, but if over $80.00, you can also use an Audiobahn AEQ series EQ/Line driver. These need RCA's from the HU as inputs and this model has outputs for 4 fullrange channels and sub controller. Have seen them off e-bay for about $60.00. They have a AUX input feature where you can switch from HU features to AUX devices like MP3, CD or DVD players. You need to have outboard amps to use this device.
