ok i started my 6x9 project a few mths back and got held up by money.....so i finally got back on it and this is what i scored today......8 fusion fes692 6x9s for 20 bucks a pair at frys and a lanzar optidrive 2 3204 for 120 bucks....does anyone have any experience with these items...i have only 4 of the speakers installed right now and already people are thinking i have subs .....i will start on fiberglass panel tomorrow to finish it up.....this is all going in a 91 caprice classic......i was just wondering if anyone has had any fusion products or have dealt with this amp before

I have never dealt with them, but I can say that I have been trying to avoid them also. They are not bad, not great. For the price you probably didn't do too badly.

These amps are rated at 80 Wrms x 4 into a 4 ohm load. Not bad at all!
If I read your gear list right, you now have a pair of Optidrives II series amps and 8 Fusion 6x9 full range speakers.
If that is so, you have 8 channels and drivers. One driver per channel will do the job well enough. You can run the amps for full range of just is use the LPF to make them sound more like subs. (set LPF to ~80 Hz.) This will net about 640 Wrms to the speakers in all.
Since these speakers are very efficient, this system will be very loud, if all speakers are in phase when wired correctly. There is a lot of cone area available here. (about 50 in^2) To get the most from them, a wall design would make a lot of sense here. (Ie: a vertical baffle board that is mounted just behind the rear seat wall and firing at the rear bumper)
To limit cancellation problems and give added low bass response, each driver should have a dedicated enclosure with an airspace of about 0.2 cf/speaker. Put some polyfill in each enclosure to dampen rear bass reflections within the box.
These should be sealed boxes, so the subs do not have excess excursion problems when reproducing low bass notes. (below 40 Hz.)

i have all 8 installed now and they sound ridiculous loud ....low end is decent ...mids and hi's are clear as day....i am very satisfied with this ib install....the thing carries like the wind.....very ear piercing
