if you do not already have the wiring harness for your vehicle, i highly recommend getting one, this is much easier and cleaner... it plugs right into your factory harness and all you need to do is soider or cripm the wires from the aftermaket harness to the head units wire harness.. then if you need to later you can just unplug that connection and plug your factory unit back in with now messy wires or any problems...

factory radio still in the car?

Either way the radio is not to bad to take out. There is a plastic piece that surrounds the radio and pocket, it looks like the letter C on its side. With a flat head screw driver or a hook tool, gently pry up on the bottom of that piece, on either side of the pocket. Once it it loose, lift it out and disconnect the cig lighter. There are 4 screws holding the radio and pocket in place. Once all 4 are removed you can take the pocket and radio out, there are 4 screws holding the radio to the mounting bracket.

You will need a radio that you can iso mount, but most will today. If you take the face off the the radio, and put it between the brackets where the factory was, the mounting hols in the bracket will line up with some mounting holes in the radio. Don't use the same screws that came out of the factory radio, your new one should come with some small brass screws for this.

what kind of connectors did you use to make your connections?

Glad to hear it went ok, it isn't rocket surgery.......
