Hey, I bought a Kicker 12" L7 and a Kicker SX 650.1 Amp, i also have a Alpine CDA-9853 deck and it sounds great...until you step outside the car, i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on soundproofing other than Dyna Mat/ Hush Mat...I plan to get it soundproofed but was wondering if anyone had any tips... thanks Replies (2) lessismorespl on 10/13/2005 14:45:49 Depends on what you want to spend. One thing you can do which is fairly inexspensive is take the plastic clips out of the bumper cover and replace tham with bolts and teflon lock nuts, you donot need a Dynamat License kit, there are a few less costly ways, one is to take some silicone and run a nice bead all the way around the back of the license plate and license plate cover, or you can take some good foam rubber, such as: weather stripping and glue it on, the silicone works best. There are decent forms of less costly sound dampening for the inside of trunk, Fatmat comes to mind...about 50 sq ft for like $50-$60. Spray-on bed liner works well also for underneath the trunk and if you can easily take off your bumper cover, under there also. As for more exspensive and timely ways....the absolute best way is to completely strip the interior and trunk of the car and have it spray w/ duroliner at ziebart......2 coats throughout the whole car including the doors will run about $300, but it is the absolute best way. Check into some fatmat, and check this site out also: http://www.installer.com/tech/rattles.html Eddie has been installing since 8-tracks and this site has some of the best inexspensive tips for stopping the infamous rattles. Check out some of the other articles also, there are some good tech tips and just some fun, as well as informative sections. less ttocs on 10/14/2005 08:37:15 the bumpers on neons always rattle........
