93 mercedes

I have looked all over for the answer, but considering I live in Kuwait I can't get one. I have been told that if I replace my factory Becker in the 93 mercedes that it could cause problems because some of the older luxury cars run other electrical components through it, such as ac/heating and power options. Can anybody tell me the validity of this for sure? Thanks

never had that issue, I have been in a couple of mercedes although they may differ from the model you have. Most of the time you run into issues with the way the speakers are wired up to the external amplifiers that are hidden in the vehicle. Bose likes to use alot of funny impedences(ohms) to make it hard to wire aftermarket systems into. In addition if there is a seperate fader on the dash or consol then that will require additional wiring.

Kuwait? welcome to the forum. We are getting alot of international questions lately, kinda kewl........

the only problem i've ever seen is that there's a wire behind the radio that if not properly grounded will cause your factory alarm system to go off at random times. other than that, it should be fine.

Try contacting Harmon/Becker for addiotional details before you dive in. They are the German Division of Harmon Intl., that sells JBL, Infinity and Becker products.

Give this one a try:
