if you go to any local car stereo shop, they carry install kits and wiring harnesses for most vehicles, yours is a pretty common car, shouldnt be a problem there. can usually pick up the harness and kit for under 30 dollars, so you would still be saving 20, have you looked on ebay for that model, prolly get it for less than ikesound... good luck

is the factory radio in your civic? Do you have keyless entry? Some honda's have the keyless built into the factory radio. To install a deck you may need to relocate the factory radio. I am pretty sure I remember the dash being a bit of a PITA to get off...

Yes, it is... Actually, if you consider what comes w/ the Crutchfield package, you are doing pretty good, they will usually mark everything down if you buy speakers too. W/ Crutchfield, you get the kit, wire harness, adaptor, and a detailed installation guide on your specific make and model of vehicle which comes in handy. You also get 24 hour tech assistance. I use to deal w/ Crutchfield and still do on certain items. Personally, I think you cannot go wrong buying from them. They also send you all the shipping labels if you decide you want to return the items, so you do not even have to pay for shipping if you decdie to return it.

Check out www.sounddomain.com also, they give you all the installtion accessories for free also.

I only used the once to get an alarm and some accesories. I had specific questions to make sure everything was compatable, as well as their word that everything worked. I had everything in and then found out two of the pieces were not compatable......

Have bought several things for my parents "Gadget Van" from Crutchfield with evry good results. Yes, it costs a few more bucks, but the install diagrams and extra phone support were well worth it. A few DVD players, CD changer and perhaps a few other items too.

My experience was VERY positive with Crutch. I think they have one of the best web/retail sites and service around... but we pay a bit more for that extra service too. My parents did not mind the prices at all. They got prices on inferior products at a local shop and when the install fees were included, they actually got a good bargain and I got some experience on the installs.

The real payoff: My Dad was happy as heck to help install the gear too. Made him feel good that he can still do stuff like this at 78 years old. To a man who has worked with his hands for over 65 years, that payoff was priceless.

What next Pops? Oh yeah, driving lights need some TLC.

those are easy enough and if ya know how you can wire them to come on and off with headlights or the parking lights........

I installed some Pilot ambers for this van on a separate circuit with a switch in the upper control box, mounted on the ceiling. I also wired the driving "eyes" to that circuit and they worked OK for a while.

Think I may have lost a ground on the eyeball circuit. Have to climb under there and probe for voltage and grounds. Used those Scotch Loc's last time. But may need to rip em out and solder/shrink tube them this time.

Yeah, they are easy to do. Just hard to get at, as this van has a very low air dam system. (tight fit for a guy my size) Guess I'll just have to break out the ol' hydro jack?
