if RF is like MTX they have an upgrade thing, have you contacted them about it. i had a friend that took out the fuses and just crossed the ground and pos.i think he had tp use a piece of metal or paper clips to replace the fuses. i highly recommend not doing this, i dunno if they can tell how the amp was blown or not.

If you blow the amp due to abuse or obvious misuse, you'll void the warrantee and not get anything out of the deal but a dead amp for a boat anchor. A good tech can spot an abused amp in seconds after he opens the case.

Try the honest route here OK... see if you can trade it back for a larger model or sell it to a friend (in working order) and then go buy what you want.

Be clean on this deal as integrity and honest dealings are far more important than getting a better amp by less than honest means.
Use your cleaverness to work out a win-win deal... everybody wins that way.

I agree with swez here. Don't just destroy the amp to get a new one. You'd be one of many reasons why retail prices stay high, and insurance is unaffordable! If you don't want the amp, sell it and lose some money. Save up a couple of months and buy the amp of your dreams. For the price that you paid for the Rockford, if retail, you could find something much more powerful on eBay. I would look into that if you are on a budget.

The amp may have a warrantee, but its like buying a car and then driving it till it breaks. Most likely the auto dealership isn't going to cover any of the damages due to neglect or mistreatment.

The 500S, seems to be a decent amp, watt wise. What are you trying to run of the amp that doesn't have enough power? What is the amp model#?

no comment...actually I do have one. I think that the whole 'blowing up the amp' scam is very unethical and should not be a question that we should be answering on our forum. I personaly do not promote warranty scams as in the end it raises prices for us others in the future when the companies do take the little losses into account for pricing. I think this thread should be deleted or edited as to prevent others from getting any ideas.

Done! I agree and we do not sanction this form of deception or dishonesty in any form. There are better ways to get what we want, without having to resort to dishonest practices.

We are here to help others solve problems... not make underhanded choices easier. Get back on track .... there are better ways to get want you want besides this plan. I rest my case!
