OK, deleted the other info as I felt we were hijacking a good post from another gent on the forum.

No IM programs on your computer is probably a very good thing with teens in the house. Can't be too careful huh?

Uhmmm, there is an excellent voice and file sharing program called SKYPE. It's free to load and use. It has superb audio quality/clarity in the program as well and various file share features including digital pics sharing as well. All one needs is a good microphone into the computer audio input jack and if you like, headphones for privacy as you chat.

My ID on SKYPE is "swezdp" . If you choose to install it, you can flag me and I will accept you into my contact list.

PS Gotta go... the fish are a calling me to come out and catch them. Wish me luck... pounded them good the other night with a fly rod. 3 SM bass (9", 13" 16" and few nice Rock bass too) This is my first year on a fly rod since 1979. It's been a memorable one for sure. But boy, do I haved bad days with tackle problems too... hehe Hookin less trees, stumps and hang ups on rod from poorly formed casts. Leaning all over again... See ya!

Well, just got back from filling up cars and 5gal gas cans (75gals total), and stocking up at the grocery store. Looks like I mught be in for a semi-rough time if Katrina follows the "projected" path. Just what I need. A hurricane to fill in my freshly dug foundation. I've got a 40'x60' tarp spread over it and it's staked down pretty good (I hope).

Man, I miss fishing in MI. Hope you get your limit.

Yikes... this one could be a bad one for the gulf coast areas. Hope it turns back out into the gulf and peters out. Otherwise, batton down the hatches cause you're in for some heavy rains and a big blow.

Fishing was slow last night. We got a good rain and water levels were up about 10". The water was very murky and a faster current this time out. (lately the water has been gin clear and a 2 mile current) Must have opened a few dams up stream to regulate water storage in the impoundments.

Noted a good Hex hatch at 7:30 - 8:15 PM. Some rises noted, but noone took a serious interest in my usual white popper. Strange, as this one always produces on top water risers. (not tonight though)

At dark, switched to a large format streamer and fished the drop offs and shore lines. No action there either as the current was just fast enough to keep the streamer high in the water. The very cloudy water was also a factor. Even this brightly colored streamer was hard to see at 2 feet.

After dark, went to my favorite deep hole with a log jam feature. Tied on a black wooly bugger w/ bead head and chartreuse hackles. This one always produces. And it did! Hooked a nice, fat catfish this time. Battled it for over 5 minutes. With the fast current and a #6 rig, had a good battle and it took lots of runs back for cover in the log jams. Had to chase it down a few times as it had several long runs.

Finally brought it to a shallow zone to get a good look at what it was. Probably 24-26" long and maybe 6-7 lbs. I released him with a snip of the line. Yeah, he got to keep the bugger, but the fight was well worth it. Go back and get fat ol boy...

Hope you get through Katrina OK. It sounds like she could become a class IV blow by Monday. That warm gulf water will provide plenty of fuel to whip up a big storm. Be safe and heed the signs, if you have to bug out for higher ground.
