Hey i have stock standard sound equipment in my car....except for the head unit which is a SONY XPLOD but am soon updating the head unit cuz it was installed by non-professionals and is stuffed (presume done by the previous owner) thinking KENWOOD or PIONEER next time.....anyways...
i wish to get a sound system in my car evenually, of coarse this means getting a subwoofer. how ever i cant put it in the boot as i am a guitarist and need the boot for my guitar amp other wise it wont fit in.
My friend suggested removing my spare tire and putting a sub there, but i want to keep the spare for safety!

Do you guys have any ideas of other places i could put a sub and what would u recomend as a decent size subwoofer.....10", 12" anything smaller????

THANX

many 10 or 12s will run great in a box around a cubic foot or less. this is not very big at all, can you spare an area about 13-14 inchs, LxWxH... if your guitar amp doesnt take all of your trunk, im sure we can find a place to accomidate for your low end freq needs. the space for a one cubic foot box is probably a lil bigger than the size of a plastic milk crate... can use this for refrence. take something that size, cardboard box anything square (or retcangular) that will give you about 12-14 inch in dimensions each way. the box can be any dimensions just as long as you have some space behind the woofer so it can breath, and of course the width and height need to be about 1 inch bigger than the cut out for the sub to accomidate for the thickness of the wood...

There are some really good Free Air subs in the market too..These get installed in the Tray behind the rear seats.. practically occupying no space in the boot except a few inches of magnet.

Ofcourse it has its pro's and con's but can be a handy installation in cases like yours..

here's more if you wish to read about them..

Hope that helps..
