i seen these subs were 1000 watts rms, do you have dual 2 or dual 4 ohm voice coil configuration???? id recommend 600-700 watts minimum depending on enclosure.... if you have dual 4 omh subs you can wire to a one omh stable amp, prolly best chance at getting 2000 watts, if you have dual 2 ohm subs then you will more than likely wire at a 2 ohm load. not many 2000 watt 2ohm amps out there, very many 1200-1500 watt amps tho.... what type music you listen to, what type box(sealed,ported- expected size) and how much are you willing to pay... we can further help once we get this clear

wired in two ohm configuration. I listen to rap and rock. I have them in a temporary ported box.

well when you go ported this helps you on powering subs that require huge power, pros with ported are obviously louder deeper bass, and less power required to make sub reach xmax. cons: the use of a subsonic filter is necessary so the sub dont play below the port tuning of the enclosure..... if you plan to stay ported we can look for an amp with a built in subsonic filter, or if you want you can always go ported later and if your amp doesnt have SSfilter then you can get inline RCA filters, ok im gonna go do some searching on ebay for amps, in the 1200-2000 watt range at 2 ohm, so just bare with me ill edit this post when i find them.

here are just a few amps to choose from, id imagine that with as little as 1000 watts those sub would still wang, but you just have to set gains right, and the enclosure make a huge difference, you can make a poor woofer with a great box sound better than a great woofer placed in a poor box.... also on another note, if you choose these high power amps you are going to need an electrical upgarde, batt, alt probably, if you upgrade the big 3 wires first that will help some.... also know this by doubling your amping power you are only gaining 3 to 5 db, not even noticable to the untrained ear so to say( so if you have a 1000 watt amp running a 2000watt rms sub you may get 130db or above, but if you goto a 2000 watt rms amp on that same sub, not going to be much of a diff, IMHO i dont think its worth the money and trouble, upgrade on the electrical are probably going to be atleast 400(low balling it) and the amp is probably another 100-300 dollars more than the amp half is size.... your thoughts????

i already have a high-amp alternator and battery.

This model is noted as a 2+2 DVC model. Best to wire each sub for 4 ohms, (both coils in series) and then wire each sub in parallel to the amp. The amp will see a 2 ohm load this way. There are many good 2 ohm stable Class D amps out there to choose from. Often a lot cheaper than under 1 ohm stable amps and easier to find as well.

Believe it or not, the ported box is the key to solid bass performance. With as little as 500 watts RMS per sub, (even do well at 250Wrms/sub) this system will hit pretty hard. But, as noted by Compvr, you'll need a SSF (subsonic filter) to protect your woofers from damage.

These subs like large ported enclosures. Rated range is 1.30 - 3.20 cu.ft., per sub. A good all around box would be about 2.25 cu. ft., per sub, port tuned between 32-40 Hz. (depending on what type of bass you wish to emphasize)

RAP has lots of deep bass notes in the 35 Hz range.
Rock is more like 40 Hz. Since you like both, port tuning to 35 Hz., will give good bump for both types of music. This is where the SSF needs to match the tuning frequncy.

Finally, CompVR is right... a solid 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohms is plenty for a daily driver bass machine. This will draw close to 80A of current at full power. Unless you already have a strong ALT/BAT kit installed, (100A + ALT & +800 CCA BAT) looking at some costly electrical upgrades. Upgrading the "Big 3" power wires can help a lot to reduce light dimming and low voltage issues to amp and car electricals.

I already have a high-current alt and batt. I was thinking about the alpine mrd m1005.

Nice amp! You'll love the features on this amp and plenty of power to drive a 2 ohm load as well. Figure this amp will deliver a solid 800 watts RMS @ 2 ohms and depending on the voltage it gets, can reach 1000 RMS @ 14.4 volts.
