I have a head unit with 2 rca outs, a audio control matrix unit, audio control eqs unit, one four channel amp, and one two channel amp. The four channel is for 6 1/2 in seperates in the front and 4x6 plates in the rear. The two channel is for 4-12 in. subs. My question is, I want to get the most out of my system, so I am going to put the rca's from the deck into the matrix and then use the three outs from it to send the signal to all three inputs of the EQS and from there out to the amps; will this work or did I purchase the matrix and not need it??? In general, this is a good way to expand performance from a HU that only has one pair of RCA outputs. Feeding them to your signal processor, boosting the line voltage and then distribution to the correct amp inputs, are the best way to go. A thought for you... the 4x6 rear channel speakers will not handle much bass or lows. You will need to filter them for ~ 150 Hz and up or they may sound terrible or blow with added power. The subs will take care of the bass needs you have. A final thought... running 2 amps and a coprocessor off the HU "REM" line may draw too much current from the REM feed. May have to install a relay and power feed line to supply the 12 volts beeded to turn on all devices. Say more about your plans and gear, Swez PS The Audio Control EQS is an excellent product choice. Has plenty on onboard EQ, a line driver and programmable presets too. Good stuff man! Claybones1 on 07/19/2003 09:24:04 Yea, I was hoping by using the Matrix unit it would give me control of front, rear, and sub, since my head unit only has 2 sets of rca's and no sub set. I have a new Idea though, my 4 channel amp has a non fading output set of rca's. If I run patch cord's from that out to the sub in of the EQS and then from the EQS sub out to my 2 channel amp, will that work??? Hope that makes sense... ttocs on 07/20/2003 00:03:44 I would not put the eqs inbetween the two amps. You amp should handle the output controls, and the eqs output will still control the sub.
