For an orion HCCA 150? The guy that I am buying my visor monitors from is selling one and I have a little extra cash, and might need it for a future planned install in a different vehicle. Looks to be in good shape.... Replies (5) MrBrownstone on 08/3/2005 15:33:29 Are you talking the 'legendary' HCCA amps? Personally, I would pay no more than any other amp with similar power ratings at 4 ohm or 2 ohms--depending upon how you use them. Unless you are going to use it in a Power/Watt competition, that amp really doesn't have a more valuable purpose than other amps out there. Of course, as a 'cheater amp' in a competition, it would be a great purchase. I owned a few of the 225s, etc. and they were great for the 100 W competition. There wasn't much power there compared to now, but great in it's time. ttocs on 08/3/2005 20:40:44 it is the 4 channel high voltage, high current model...... the big red sob......... MrBrownstone on 08/4/2005 12:54:37 I guess I dont' know exactly. They are so overpriced that I'd need to be convinced that the amp wasn't run 1 ohm mono its entire life to be confident it's a good purchase. They were great amps for their time, but that time passed in 1995. I'd say, look at what a good 75Wx4 amp goes for, and that's about it. I wouldn't pay retail, and would strongly consider getting the 75Wx4 or 100Wx4 amp new. Nothing against Orion or that amp, but it was designed as a 1 ohm cheater amp, and just doesn't have a legitimate use for you unless competing. I believe it was the same size as the Honda CRX. Guys actually mounted the amplifier on the outside of the car!!!!! ttocs on 08/5/2005 09:52:40 and it probably still works............
