I recently recieved 2 10" speakers (not sure on the watts) in a car box unit, and a 325 watt MTX amp as a gift from a friend who wanted new stuff. i have a sony xplod am/fm/cd stereo installed already. i have 8 guage wire (20 ft) to run from the amp to the power source. i have the left/right RCA cables from the stereo head to the amp, and speaker wires already. i need to know where to put the rca cables from my head unit to the trunk (thats where the amp and speakers are going to be) and where and/or what to attach the 8 guage wire for power to. i was told by the friend to run the 8 guage directly to the (+) on the car battery, but i do not wish to kill my car battery. what are my options please. thank you a lot. A 40A inline fuse is fine. To turn on and off the amp, the HU has a REMote feed line that connect to amp. This shuts the amp off when HU is off, and sends a 12 volt turn on signal to the amp, when the HU is switched on. This is a small gage wire, usually Blue and if your RCA line have a tiny extra line on it, this is for your REM feed to amp. Make sense? See the connection process?
