Sort of off-topic. Any suggestions?

I just returned from my annual vacation to the inlaws. My Father-in-law is a retired EE who was really into designing and building electronics equipment in the past. He's decided to pursue other interests (stock market) and bequeathed all of his "parts" to me. I've got 6 30 gal. Hefty bags chock full of brand-new-still-in-the-blister-pack electronics components. TTL's, LED's, MOSFET's, Darlington's, power transistors, caps, resistors, pots, L-pads, IC timers, beaucoup other IC's, breadboards, etc., etc., etc.. Approx. $15,000-$20,000 original cost. Other than doing a LOT of remedial electronics re-education and using this stuff, anybody have any ideas what I might fo with it? I should also mention that the vast majority of this "stuff" is probably outdated, circa late 70's-early 90's. There's even a couple of large coffee cans full tubes that are mil spec quality (they came out of Army radars in Vietnam).

The vacuum tubes may be of interest to Ham radio guys. Some of those tubes may be worth a small fortune to the right hands.

Also, going to flea markets where electronics buffs hang out, might be profitable too. I have been to a few of them where guys have stalls with all sorts of electronics and gadgets/components etc. You may be able to sell them to merchants there, if they are looking for more inventory.

Last thought, some schools (Colleges especially) that have a decent electronics program would gladly take some of this stuff off your hands. A donation means a tax write off on "fair market value" of what you donate. That number is subjective to a wide range of interpretation. Generally, used stuff is worth about 10-30% of costs when new. Never used stuff in packages... 50% + of the sticker prices on the pakage is fair.

PS Hope you find a home for some of this neat ol stuff.
