yea its a pretty important day for us americans, is the day we signed the declration of independence back in 1776, became our own country, freed us from british rule... mostly know for fireworks and big groups of people just celebrating and having a good time....here is a link with a brief over view....

I get the whole idea, We were under british rule too, but India got their freedom very late,

So I know the kind of happiness and patriotism on feels on the independence day, Anyway guy, to all you Americans there, Wish you a very happy independence day.

Indeed... hold the beer/whiskey bottle in one hand, hot dog or ribs in the other. And for those who like to play with fireworks... BE CAREFUL! Count your fingers and toes when finished to see that all are present and accounted for.

Have to work Friday and perhaps part of Saturday too. Then, when the crowds thin out, going fishing! Ahhhh, rest, peace and hanging out with nature. That's the plan, if the weather permits.

Happy Independence Day to all!

there will be lots of crackers poppin(isn't that how you say it vic?).

When I think of the 4th all I can think of is fireworks. When I lived in the midwest we would spend all of our allowences on them, and beg fer more. Now that I am in the desert, and especially with all the wild fires burnin around here, they frown on fireworks. The only exciting part is that we can get very large mexican fireworks, they boil down to a 1/4-1/3 stick of dynamite... I can remember more then a few firecrackers going off in or near my hand to keep me from wanting to light something as large as those. They look like they were put together by a guy on the side of the road...
