g-day all, im from australia. i have a 200 watt car amp and it has 3 power in wires. red, black and yellow. i know what the red and black are for, but not the yellow. the book says it goes to the power antenna but i don't know what the hell it does. the book doesn't give much info on the wiring of it.

the yellow wire is for remote or a way to turn the amp on only when your radio is on. you can attach this to the remote out of your head unit or to the power antennae moter if its a stock radio im not sure which one it is sio test em all if none of this works you can just attach it to any other 12 volt out such as the cig lighter and put a switch on it

Agreed, the yellow is probably a light gage wire for remote turn on functions via the HU or the power antenna. If using a stock HU without a power antenna feature, you can run a single fused wire (3A) from the ACC/IGN tap in the fuse panel. When the key is in ACC or IGN positions, that line will feed power to the yellow wire and turn on the amp.

Your other option, is to install a lighted switch off a constant 12 volt source... back to the yellow wire. When the light is on, the amp has power. When the light is off, no power to amp.

G-luck mate!

PS What do ya know... a guy who actually reads the install manual before diving in! CLAP

Reading before thinking you know how to do it anyway?

I almost passed out. Kudos to you my friend. I wish I could only have that sort of patience.
