I just bought a 1998 Chevrolet S10.
Everytime I put a CD in, I get the ERR message. I've tried different CDs and tried turning the CD upside down. I've tried it with the car cooled down, also.

try running a laser lense cleaner through it. The lense may just be too dirty to read.

I appreciate the reply, thanks. The manual says not to do that as it may gunk up the cd laser thing, but at this point, what the heck...

try a laser lense cleaner. My stock deck would make static from time to time and I would run it through. I could see the crap it picked up on the disc, suprising....
