Are you ready for this.... Pink Floyd is reuniting for englands live 8 charity concert in july. Apparently they have put aside their differences and are willing to perform again together for charity. Too bad they dont plan on touring again...id pay anything to see them live Replies (7) swez on 06/17/2005 10:29:55 Would be way too cool if they came to North America too. I'd take a road trip for that one. Swez ttocs on 06/17/2005 19:14:13 I had an opportunity to see them on the pulse tour and for some stuped reason I didn't go...... swez on 06/18/2005 10:50:10 Saw them in Milwaukee, WI (Brewer's Stadium) in 1987. It was quite a show. (The Wall Tour I think, and some older material too) No Rodger Waters in this event I believe. The first set was problematic for the sound mix guys. The Bass was way too strong and very poor vocal presents at first. By the 2nd set, they had it dialed in and WOW.... sounded great then. Looks like they will only do the London show on July 2. Swez ttocs on 06/18/2005 17:24:16 hopefully they will remember how much they like it and get back at it.... huh, so swez listened to floyd, interesting......... swez on 06/18/2005 22:11:07 Heck ya.... are you kidding... they started in 1965. Some very interesting psycho-acoustic tricks at the mixing board... very unusual instrumentations from the keys too. Rodger Waters is a fair bass player, but his punch through vocals and poignant lyrics are very appripo for that time period. Especially the WW II renditions. Gotta love David Gilmore's very dramatic guitar work too. Such a unique style, melodic at times, etherial in some cuts... one very talented guitar player. He fits his ideas in very well and can sing to boot. Did you know Waters' & Gilmore and company are are about 60 now? Yeah... 1944 for Waters, 1947 for Gilmore. That's older than than Ol Man Swez! SMILE Swez Buickman94 on 06/19/2005 03:18:57 Yea there getting up there in age, but look at the Rolling Stones. There touring again and some of the guys are ~64 years old! Now that is amazing. swez on 06/19/2005 11:28:41 What amazes me, is how many of this generation (Gen X & Y) know and like the Rockers' music of the late 60-80's. That really bridges a few pretty wide gaps. My parents listened to Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Hank Williams Sr., and yes... even Elvis. Come to think of it, some of those old B&W movies with "The Rat Pack" in them, were actually pretty good stuff. Deno, Sammy, Frank, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford. who the heck are they?
