Hi Everyone: Thanks for your advice on this problem. My 2002 Honda Accord is making a whiney, high-pitched noise when I rev the engine when the lights or AC are on (or both). The WEIRD part is the noise is audible when my kenwood faceplate is OFF and the amp (pioneer) is OFF as well. The noise seems to be coming from the right speaker?? only. Is this possible? Can I have noise when the amp is OFF? Thanks for all of your advice. P.S. The amp is still under warranty. Check your amp to make sure it is indeed off when the HU is off. If the amp is on, but the HU is off... noise is possible if the input gain on amp is set too high. Most HU's put out ~1.5 - 4.0 volts of audio signal, depending on design and volume settings. If the gain settings are set to midpoint of the dial, should be OK. But... if the gain is set very close to maximum sensitivity (0.5 volts) noise is amplified with or without any signal. (when the amp is on) Finally, do you have any noise when the HU is on etc? If yes, make sure your HU is well grounded to a body/chassis ground and not just to the stock harness ground. See FAQ on that subject for details. I am just judging that it is indeed off since the HU faceplate is OFF and the red light on the pioneer amp is off, too. As for noise when the HU is on....no, not really any different. The whine is still there when I turn on AC and/or lights. I will have them check the ground again, too. Perhaps I really do have a bad amp (that stinks because it's only 6 months old). Thanks again!
