I'm installing a Sirius system in my 2001 VW Passat. My antenna routing is very similar to the Accord setup shown in the middle of this video: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/ISEO-rgbtcspd/learningcenter/car/satellite_vid eo.html?format=mov The problem is that I found it fairly difficult to route the wire under the window seal without tearing up the seal. Is there a tool that helps route the cable? I tried using a couple of small slotted screwdrivers, but I could swear I saw something specifically designed for this in the past. Just can't find it now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Replies (1) swez on 06/10/2005 21:50:18 Great video instructions here. Thanks for a most useful link! :-) I would try a pair wide blade puddy knives that are fairly stiff in flex. You can get under the trim seals well and not tear the seal apart this way. One blade to separate the seal and the other to gently tuck the wires into place as you move along the path. Screw drivers have pretty narrow blades and thick too. This can put undue stresses on the seals and tear them as they have so much pressure exerted on a very short segmnent of the seals. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
