I just got out of the hospital today, been there since last wedSAD... I got sick again on sunday and started throwing up, finally decided after 3 days I would go to the ER. The last few times I went in for this it was much sooner in my re-occuring illness, but it also took alot longer to get them to figure out something was wrongIDEA? This time I sped through the emergency room in a couple of hours and was admitted to the hospital as I guess my kidneys were close to failing(they told me the next morn). I am happy to say that this was a very nice hospital and they did not do everything the same way the others didCLAP. For some reason when you go in an ER pukingTHINK, they always want to start taking ct scans and such requiring you to drink and hold down a significant amount of dye(a bad baruim milk shake) while they take pics. Of course this is hard to while throwing up constantly(every 15-45 min or when ever ANYTHING gets into your stomach). They later told me they didn't do this because of the kidney problem however that they did things the way they did.... They did however check my gall bladder and found that it was only working @ 14% so they decided to take it out. My appendix was on the way and did not look bad er good so they decided,"while we're hereTHINK?". Guess it was a 2 fer one holiday deal, that was saterday morn, sunday was a bad day too but today I started eating and feeling better so they let me go. I dropped another 20 lbs and am back down to 160, absolutly skin and bones......... Hopefully everything is going better and on the way up now, I don't know how they got it all out as there are only 4 - 1/2" holes, one being in my belly button....
Thankfully I have very good insurance and a good short term disability program so I will be off work to recover for 2-3 weeks, or however long I need. Unfortunatly in 2 weeks I was scheduled to go work as a camp counselor at chip camp. It is a week long technology based summer camp for juniors and seniors that my company puts on. I was looking forward to returning for my 3rd year. I also missed the Final race of the year on my mountain bike. It was the state finals, but I heard it was pretty lame so easy come easy go.........
Hopefully the problem was fixed and I will not have to worry about getting sick again howeve they said there is no way to tell, hurry up and wait.....

anyway glad to hear your feelign better... your doctors sound like the ones at my local ER i went in for a hurt ankle the other day and got some pain killers for that and mentioned i had had a sore throat for about a month and gave me anti biotics and some cough supresant with codine... guess it was 2 fer deal on pain killers at my ER hehe....
anyway hope you stay feeling better.

Glad you had a swell holiday weekend in the ER and hospital room. Meet any nice nurses aids while there?
All kidding aside, hope this stint of tests and operations will finally resolve that nagging health issue you have been dealing with. Godspeed and a quick recovery to ya old man. Will put in a few good words to the Man Upstairs for a speedy recovery.

PS Get a set of suspenders to help hold up your pants mang. It worked for me when I shed about 25 lbs last winter. SMILE

Funny enough there was a nice little nurses aid that was nice. She was a working student that was there every night I was. Very kind, very caring, very cute... The last night I was there it slowed down and she stopped and talked to me for 30 min as it was really late and I was not able to sleep more then a couple of hours on that bed. She brought me something to drink and I offered to pay her back if she would let meSMILE. I got her number but I don't know if we will ever meet as she is really busy and lives on the other side of town, oh, and she is 10 yrs younger then me........
I did feel chewed up and spit up. When I woke from the surgery I guess I had chomped down on my lip, it was VERY swollen and cut inside but the least of my problems.
Like I said this the 4th er 5 time in almost 3 yrs this has happened, and everytime I drop 20+lbs in a week. I have clothes for all sizes..........
Gonna try to work this to my advantage. I was wanting to move up a catagory for next years races and it is a big jump. The loss of body fat(and alot of muscle unfortunatly) could be a good thing if I can jump in with a good diet and work out routine. To make this move I would have to race 6-10 miles longer, and at a faster pace. The sport catagory is pretty stiff here with 40-60 riders per race... it didn't kill me and I will come out stronger.

Hope you are feeling better. That Hollywood Diet isn't all it's cracked up to be. But on a side note: At least they didn't remove any IMPORTANT organs.
They coulda removed the Testicals....Heck, you're not using them either, right?!?!?!?!?

I had no idea Mr. B. was such a learned man... he is refering to "Testicals Deviate" of Fuds' Laws. It's an old book and not many his age have even heard of it.
About that nurses aid... since you did get her phone number, it seems proper to give her a call and tell her how you are coming along. If the conversation lasts longer than 10 minutes, that's progress and time to ask some red/green light questions toward making a meeting happen next.
Notice I did not say date... I said MEETING... as in "meeting of the minds".... meaning, does she have one? Knows how to use it? Does it flow steadily and methodically or a meandering stream that leads to no where? Great place to meet... Baker's Square for some coffee and a slice of French silk pie or two. If that goes badly, out what... about $10.00 and maybe an hour? If it goes well... invite her back to your place for a hot tub "relaxing party".
Sound like a plan mang?

I actually ended up back in tuesday night, and just got back out thurs. I am better now and cannot stop eating..........
I have not called her back as I have been too busy calling and scheduling all the docs. I did get out last night with some friends and had another female friend call around 10:30 wanting to get a drink, she was right up the road. Who knows where it could have gone if the majority of the conversation was not about me puking...
I don't know that I have the time between the others to call the youngin.........
I have also been busy plannin a trip to the keys in oct for a friends wedding. She called me at the hospital and told me the good news.... I have a timeshare that I have been doing nothing but paying the bills. Looks like i have more then enough points for the best suit in the place fer free. I need a vacation.......

WOW ! Back in/on the pot again? ("Pot" as in potty, boiling pot of water, etc.) Mang, this bout sure has been a long spell eh? Hope you can regroup, regain your momentum and have a vacation very soon. Sounds like you need it. (me too... even a long weekend away will do)
Hope you feel better, now that food is staying down... take care of yourself dude... you're the only ttocs we have!

I had a strange sensation wed night, I was hungry.... From then on been doing well.
Also just found out the place in florida takes pets. Looks like I'll get to take my little buddy with me, should be a great trip.
