just bought a 98 dodge durango and the stock radio doesnt work.what happens is when you turn on the power, you hear noise for a second and then nothing!the guy i bought it from, said to me that it was working before it got to the detailer so i dont know if hes giving me a line or not.has anybody had this problem?any comments would be greatly appreciated. thanks Replies (3) uochronos on 05/30/2005 21:52:01 well cover simple things first check fuses then check wires going to the back of it and any fuses there. if still nothing then hook a known good speaker up see if that works.. also does the radio stay powered on just no music? if so maybe it needs to be reset or a password entered? alot of posibilities here any more info you have would be good. ttocs on 05/31/2005 02:54:35 could be a ground problem. Chrystlers have a 3rd silver wire that bolts to the back of the radio for the ground. If some body had a deck in it, and put the factory back in they could have forgotten that wire, and it is not grounding through the ant. Do you know how to get the radio out? charlie1200 on 05/31/2005 06:58:09 thanks for the responces so far.its wierd but when i put the key in acc ill turn the radio on and itll make noise for a second and then after a few seconds the power will shut off but when im driving down the road ill look at the radio and the power is on! so go figure.also what i did was disconnect the ground to the batt. for about 10 seconds and that did nothing.i checked the fuses that are in the engine compartment and there wasnt one for the radio.about the 2nd responce-that could be it too.and i dont know how to get the radio out.looks pretty imtimidating but that looks like what im going to have to do.the guy was telling me that the amp was located underneath the 2nd row of seats.is that true?maybe the detailer hit a wire there or something.if you could give any imfo on taking the radio out that would be appreciated. thanks Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
