Ok just blew my old amplifier took it apart and it would cost too much to repair and too much hassle so i will be getting a new amp.

so far i have been mainly looking at PG and Alpine amps but i would hat to miss something great because i wasnt looking ouside those 2 brands so if any of you know a great amp in the 800-1200watts rms range i would apreciate the input.

i will consider amps as low as 600watts rms as well. also i have looked into JL and simply dont think they are that much better then PG or Alpine high end amps so i wont be going with JL

PS
thanks in advance guys./

The new MTX Audio amps are worth looking at, as are the Diamond Audio amps, in fact i swapped out my JL 500/1 for a Diamond D3600.1 and am very happy with it.

The only difference, other than maybe price, is that the JL Slash series amps have a patented regulated power supply which allows the amp to put out the rated wattage at even low voltages, I believe it is 11-14.4 volts. IMO it was not worth the extra $200 compared to my Diamond D3600.1 which has never failed me and runs very efficiently.

well since you didnt put a price range down, im guessing money really isnt an option (other than the fact that u said it would cost too much to fix your old amp), but neway.... im just gunna put down a few decent ones and since u didnt tell how many subs you had im just gunna assume one... moving on

Audiobahn A8002t
Kenwood KAC-9102D
Boss PD-3000
Xtant X1001
Kicker 1200.1
JL E1800D

just to name a few decent ones since u really dint give a price range.... if u have the money and dont want something pretty good but want something REALLY good get back to us, but for now i think this list is good enough

nope price is not a big issue fixing my old one would cost equal or more to what i paid for it hence why fix it and not get another sturdier amp:)

lessismorespl i will look into the diamond amps thanks. I completly forgot about diamond.

also space is an issue so the smaller physical dimensions and high quality are more important to me then price i would rather spend a little more and get something i really like and will last. hence why the PG xenon and Alpine are at the top of my list so far.

thanks palmquist i know all the good brands and what not just looking for some input on anything exceptional about certain models that might suit me... I think i have decided on either a 1000watt alpine V12 amp or a PG xenon x600.1 both are very similar currently leaning towards the alpine more so just because the higher power
