I'm off to Sunny Lost Wages, Nevada and then San Diego for an extended stay. Back June 6 with any wouldbe stories, etc. In the meantime, I go from 50 degrees and rainy to 100 degrees and dry as Hell in 2 hours and 45 minutes of flight time. Hope my tender skin doesn't turn KFC on me. A little Canola oil anyone? Promise I won't win a bunch of pile of cash and get wasted like last time...unless I actually win a pile of cash...then all bets are off. At this time, I'd like to leave the snyde remarks to Victor and Swez. Both are accomplished in their fields, and in my absence should provide all the leadership you've come to expect in the comedy and satire departments. My itinerary is as follows May 29, 30, 31, 32 VEGAS Imperial Palace June 2, 3, 4 & 1/2 of June 5 San Diego Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. Don't drink & Drive. You could spill and ruin the upholstery in Dad's Buick. I hope you got more than 5$. THINK Have fun in hell. (aka Las Vegas) where it is 100 degrees or more all the friggin time. Stay away from the quarter and dollar slot machines, you'd better stick with the penny slots, because that 5 dollar S.S. money will last a lot longer doing 1 penny at a time. SMILE Good luck gettin on your airplane, i hear the airlines are sucky, like they have always been. I never travel.....i dont like anywhere but Tennessee. DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!! AND FOR THAT MATTER, DONT DO DRUGS AND DRIVE!! swez on 05/27/2005 22:07:37 Mr. B. is not a slot player. Why do you think they call them 1 armed bandits? That is always a "House Wins" game. The best chances to make money off the house, is in poker and blackjack... his specialties. I predict he will come back with a nice haul... $10-15 grand if lucky and focused. On a bad trip, still better than $5 grand in his pocket. Plus, he is interviewing for several jobs in San-Diego. Hope he hits on all fronts. Go get em boy! Swez ttocs on 05/31/2005 03:17:15 he did last time, hope he doesn't need bail, think I am the closest......... MrBrownstone on 06/4/2005 16:04:30 Bail? I'm disappointed in you. Can you pick me up at the Clark County Slammer? That pepper steak is actually better than the Salmonella special @ the Horshoe though. Thinking of going to Sycuan or Village (el cajon and chula vista cali) Up about 3700...give or take as I don't keep track of meals, and it's net hotel, buy-ins and stripp....wait, that's all Pretty successful trip overall. Back in town Monday. I have to make a decision on where to work, or if I should make another barage of interviews, come back in 2 weeks, and do it again. I REALLY would like to just take a job, move here, and keep looking in the event a better one comes my way. Contingency to be worked out next week. Have 5 compensation plans to review while they are fresh in my mind. Turning down one of the jobs as it is a chop shop no doubt. Last time I worked in a boiler room, I boiled over. swez on 06/5/2005 10:42:05 Would have thought you'd clean up the town in Vegas a 2nd time by now. But it sounds like you did well enough and came back with more than you went with though. Three job offers in San Diago huh? Same field as now? A thought on your selection process... take the one that loads the comps up front so you can get a good toe hold on the new location in the first 3-6 months. If things aren't happening there, have time to look and interview for that dream job, once you have been there awhile. Take no prisoners dude... it's jungle warfare out there and chop shop type boiler rooms are a dime a dozen. Work to your strengths... not against them. Keep us posted eh? What's your ETD for permanent departure from Minnihaha? Swez ttocs on 06/5/2005 13:33:46 any trip from vegas where you don't leave a deposit is a good trip, no matter how good you are. I don't think B will argue with me there. But yes, sounds good to me. Your gonna be commin to the southwest? sounds good to me. Pick the location with the best view within a days drive of phoenix, I need some vacation destinations...... nice to have all those options huh? MrBrownstone on 06/6/2005 17:27:35 As with all jobs, there's an 'opportunity' awaiting at every door. Just whether the opportunity is to make money, or get the shaft. In any case, my contingency is to 'start' July 15 with one company, and Aug 15 with the 2nd company. By the time month 1 is over, I'll see if it's really a good place to work, or just treading water. Job 2, I can always cancel. As far as coming back from Lost Wages with cash in your hand, it's easy to do. Most blithering idiots go to Vegas with a 'budget' and not with a goal in mind. Their plan is the they have $xx to SPEND and do not have a gaming strategy to make money or what to do when they win anyway. They don't know which games are rigged (most of them) and don't have a decent strategy on those that aren't. Knowing your odds on every hand or spin should affect your decision whether or not to put money on the table. The Slots are an absolute sham, and all table games except some of the black jack games are rigged. If you are minimally educated, black jack is profitable--although casinos are working to change that. Poker, when facing other casino guests (not the house vs player faux poker games) are basically the games you want to play. As with all games, when you know you are beat, leave. I've left a number of poker tables where the other players were tighter than a duck's ass, and so there was no money to make there. I've also rebought a number of times when a real fish would eventually hand over all his money--and he did. The real key to going into a casino is to overstudy the games you are playing, and knowing how your mood and personal habits are either profitable or not. Knowing your competition may actually be more valuable than anything...particularly when facing live action games. I have honestly thought of quitting my job NOW, taking 45 days in Vegas to either sink or swim, then starting July 15 as if nothing ever happened. After winning or placing 2nd in a half dozen tournies in May, and winning several thousand in medium limit games 2 months in a row., I'm starting to think I need to explore my game a little more. Last fall, I finished a job, and had a 2 month gap between finish and start date. In that time, I made a few grand...nothing to be excited about, but profitable. I'd love another shot at the same this summer prior to starting a new company in a new area. My game is drastically improved this spring, and may be turning a corner. After spending more time in Vegas and Cali, my opinion of west coast players has substantially decreased. They just don't know, don't care to learn, and love to gamble. In a game where gambling is not your friend, they love it. I just hope they don't all go broke @ once before I collect their donations. The players that DO know how to play out there are from the midwest and east coast. Most of the duck's are from the east. I do like the east coast players. They are solid, so it's easy to know where you stand. Like driving with the cruise on. More later. have a couple of fires to put out. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
