Check out the writeup of my mentor. You MUST read this. You are COMPELLED to read this one. http://citypages.com/databank/26/1271/article13164.asp After the car audio boom went kapooey. After 75% of car audio sites went out or sold out. After I had 7 months sentenced to working for someone else, I had no sense of direction. A friend recommended me to work for his mortgage company. That friend also recommended that I get added to 'this guys' team because I was a Goodfellow. He taught me everything I know, and how to anticipate things I don't know, but will come up. The most intuitive minds in the world, next to mine. If I were a criminal, I'd be a billionaire. He'd be slightly richer...or would he? My mentor, Randy Miland, was an Italian Stallion of all sorts. A complete man of men, sausage of sausages. He is/was dedicated to every aspect of the sale. One troubling thing though. Each time he got paid, he needed someone to drive him to the bank to cash his check. Now, ordinarily, you'd expect a person of his stature (manager) to DEPOSIT, not CASH his check, but hey----he's Italian. Fagetaboutit!!!!! I figured he owed a bunch of child support or something. Stereoypical Italian (no offense to the Guidos out there) At any rate, one time, I had to give him a ride to the bank 2 days in a row...because the counter @ Wells Fargo didn't have enough cash in the til to cover his request. Does anyone know or have any idea how much money that is? WELLS Fing FARGO!!! Doesn't have enough cash!?!?!?!?.. At any rate, Well, finally, his 'story' is printed in one of the local grit rags, City Pages. Of course, it'll be on the news sometime soon, I'm sure. Dedicated professional. Exceptional service, great follow-through. Perceptive....has he changed his ways from 1998? Only the Lord knows. USFLAG Replies (2) swez on 05/20/2005 18:25:25 Interesting read there Mr. B. That fellow A.J. Fant, HEI fame, used to call on HEI in the mid-latter 90's for materials and wet chemistries products used by HEI in circuit board designs and applications. One of their larger customers in that day was IBM. One of their many sub-contractors for proto-types and small production runs. I may have even met the guy at one point in our negotiations. Interesting note here, there was definitely something amiss in 98-99 there at HEI. Tensions were high, folks were not talking very much and it was obvious something was going on in the background. They seemed very interested in bringing on a 2nd supplier ASAP. Their primary supplier (DuPont) was giving them grief and felt they needed a full line back up. Wonder why? Maybe HEI could not keep up their bills due to the hostile take-over actions? Swez MrBrownstone on 05/23/2005 12:48:37 What troubled me the most is the malicious intent. It's not as if he bummed a coupla bux off some friends due to hard times. He had a profitable business....he just blew it. That or did blow... either way, same thing.
