I would like some input on a good system to install into my Ford Supercrew. Currently I have the stock 6 disc premium HU. I just went down to the local dealer and they gave me some quotes on 2 w1v2 plus box 378 4 channel amp 279 convertor 25 amp kit 30 plus labor 892. The other quote is for JL audio stealthbox with 1 10w3v2 450 plus amp etc comes to 971. This what I have in mind 1 or 2 subs under the back seat and an amp to push the subs and stock speakers which will be changed out on a later date. 1000 is the budget. Thanks will welcome all brands and listen to all types of music on xm. Just want something that sounds good.

the two 10's will be louder, but the stealthbox will be cleaner. if you want loud, do the two, if you want quality, do the one.

the stealthboxes are really, really nice. i strongly recommend them. haven't heard the F150 stealthbox, but i'm sure it's good. if you get the stealthbox, you can mount the amp under the other side of the back seat and have a completely stealth install, which are my favorites.

I just added an infinity basslink to my factory ford system and have been happy with it since. Less then $300 can get you an amp, sub and passive radiator in an easy to install configeration. It may fit under the back seat, you would have to check to be sure.....

I talked to another store and he was saying a 4 channel wouldn't push the subs and the stock speakers? He recommends a 2 and 4 channel for this. Also the price they quoted me is it fair or out of hte ballpark? Thanks for the feedback.

where are you at? Prices vary heavily around different sides of phoenix where I am, but are all still more expensive then when I lived in the midwest.

You can use a 4 channel to drive all the speakers, but a 5 channel or what he described will work better. It will be more expensive and probably more then you need.

The question that seems to be "How much Bass" do you really want here? No question, JL makes some great products. But they are not cheap either. They can get plenty loud if you wish, but that means larger box, 2 subs and a pretty strong amp to push them.

As ttocs mentioned, Infinity Bass link is a single 10" sub with 200 watt amp and passive radiator. These make a lot of sense in compact truck installs where box space is minimal. A pair of these can be had for under $500.00 and minimal install is required too. Not a bad option for good SPL and good SQ. Each Basslink draws a max current of 25A.

Also, there are many other great subs out there for much less than JL products. A little "heads up" shopping can get you some fine gear, warrantee and install for under $1,000.00.

Thanks for the help guys really. This is what I'm looking at clean sound not bumping to try and blow the windows out but a nice kick when Metallica is playing and a nice bump when G Unit is playing. I live about 2 hours east of San Diego so I'm pretty limited to the store in my area. So Palm Springs, San Diego, Yuma is an option for me for purchase or install etc. I'm not set on JL Audio I just know what I hear from others but thats not much. The truck that this is going into is a ford supercrew 2004 black leather int. I'm open for options and my budget is 1000.00 if that means good subs and amp plus another amp for the doors thats fine I want to keep the stock 6 disc unit with XM. Thanks Guys.

Well, for bass... the Infinity BassLink is definitely an option. Small, compact, quality bass and minimal current draw. That leaves room for a good 4 channel for your mids/highs.

Also, if you keep the stock system, some adapters will be needed to get that all together. Several of the Pro Installers here can walk you through the list of options. Just take your time, do your homework and gather the details and put it together.
