Which amp will be better for my set up

I would like to know what would be better for my system. I currently have a KD-LH3100 JVC head unit. I am running two 15" MTX Thunder 6000 SVC 4ohm subwoofers. 1992 Honda accord

I currently have an amp for each subwoofer. They are both Kenwood KAC729s 600W peak amps. Here are the specs

I would like to just use one amp. Preferably, a Kenwood KAC 8151D (i have a friend that is selling). This is a 1000 watt peak mono class D. Here are the specs

Which would be the best situation between those 2 options. If the mono will be less powerful, will it be very noticable do you think?

From what i gather, unless im mistaken, the mono amp is more efficient simply becuase its a class D which is more efficient than the a/b amps. But, if you run both subs off of one amp, they have to be wired at 2 ohms. Which means, the mono amp puts out 400 w x 1 channel @ 2 ohms. so you are sending 200 w to each sub. using both of the two channel amps, each bridged to one sub @ 4 ohms, you are giving each sub 300 w rms. also another thing to consider. the mono amps input rating is @ 14.4 volts, which means the wattage is a little over rated seeing as how most cars put out around 12 volts. Im not sure if you would be able to notice a difference in the power, someone else like swez will have to get that one for you.

Tink nailed it perfectly. If you went with that 8151D, your average sub wattage range will be 175-200 Wrms/sub.

Power consumption will be better with the Class D amp as compared to the pair of 729S amps used now, but less SPL from each sub too.

See if you can find a Class D amp that puts out 600 Wrms @ 2 ohms for your subs. Can go a bit higher on power if you wish.... just be mindful of how you set up the amp. These subs are rated at 300 Wrms per each. An amp that ranges between 600-800 Wrms will be plenty.
