Hey, a friend of mine had two 15 inch rockford fosgate punch subs, not sure which ones yet, i'm having her check. Anyhow, one blew, and for some reason (i guess she has the money) she want to just buy two new 15s. She really just wants loud loud loud subs. Could you guys give me any ideas of other brands to be looking at for this category? I guess she is thinking somewhere around 350 or less for each sub...no idea where she gets the money...Thanks

Personally, I think the Digital Designs subwoofers are some of the louest on the market, and that is pretty much proven by how many world records they hold in dB Drag Racing. The DD3515d is in that price range. 1000 wRMS, 1600 w music, 3200 w peak and comes in a variety of voice coil configurations(you can pretty much order it however you want it w/ up to 4 voice coils). you can order it direct here:

The RE SE(600 wRMS/ 1200 w peak), RE SX(1000 wRMS/ 2000 w peak), and the RE XXX(1600 wRMS/ 2500 w peak) are both in that price range, maybe less if you can order it direct. You can email them for a complete price list including shipping if you do not have an authorized dealer w/in 100 mile radius of your zip. You can check them out here:

MTX Audio has the 7500 and the 8500, I think the 7500 would be in that price range, the 8500 would be somewhat higher, but you can find them for less on eBay. These are good subwoofers and you can read up on them here:

There are many good subs out there, these are a few of my favorites, I have used both MTX and Digital Designs when I was dB Drag Racing, with very good results. I have yet to use the Resonant Engineering subs, but I'm certain the day will come.

Turns out the price she got was 350 for two rockford fosgate punch stage 2s. So i assume that changes things a bit.

Also, I thought i read that two subs only gets you a few decibles more then one, am I right about that? If that is in fact true, would you suggest she get one 15 of one that you suggested or the two rockfords? Thanks SPL

Yes, if you had 1 sub powered at say 300 Wrms, can anticpate about 120-125 dB of bass. If you added a 2nd sub with 300 Wrms to it as well, add +3dB to the above number.

What amp does she have now to driver RF stage 2's? Make & model numbers on amp and subs would be most helpful.

That is correct swez, or you can double the power, which would give you the same 3dB gain. Also, if she goes w/ one 15" in a ported/vented enclosure, that wuld give some gain also. I would need to know what amp she has, or if she wants to purchase a new more powerful amp. The Digital Design subs do not perform well when under powered. Give us some specs on the amp and it would help match up some sub(s).
