They are not known as performance amps... might aswell look at some better brands out there in the market.. like Alpine, Kenwood, Orion, Diamond Audio, Phoenix Gold, JBL, Hifonix, and many others.. Victor.. lessismorespl on 05/4/2005 07:27:30 I agree w/ Victor, although Lanzar does make some of the better quality low end equipment, they are not known as performance amps and are actually somewhat over-rated in their power output. If you are on a budget, and depending on what subs you decide to go with, the new Kenwood amps are very reliable and you can get the new mono amp for about the same as the Lanzar and it is rated @ 900 wRMS. I know the RE SE's are under-rated and I would definately consider stepping up to a Diamond D61200.1 or the Hifonics 1500D. As for the Adire sub, I have little experience with them, but I have never heard bad things about them, for 750 wRMS, I would consider the Diamond Audio D3600.1 or D6600.1, or the Hifonics 1000D. It may dig into your pockets a little more, but I think you would be much happier w/ the performance. ttocs on 05/4/2005 09:14:31 yuppers, lanzar is not what it use to be. ssallstar598 on 05/4/2005 21:27:03 thanks for the input - ill look into the Hifonics and Diamond Audio amps. snipe523 on 05/5/2005 08:58:20 Not to disagree with everyone but the lanzar opti's are actually pretty good amps. They do about their rated power and are pretty solid. Now their lower lines....... I wouldn't touch them. ssallstar598 on 05/10/2005 17:13:56 alright im def. going w/ the adire tempest, the hifonics amp you suggested 1000D doesnt exist.... theres 1205D 1505D 1605D 1905D 2004D and im going to be wiring it at 4 ohms and none of those put out 700 for a decent price.... Buickman94 on 05/10/2005 20:29:22 Depending on the size of the box, you may not need 700watts to get full output from the sub. Generally, the larger the enclosure, the less powered needed to push the sub to its peak. Just becuase a sub can take 750 watts, that doesnt mean it needs 750 watts. Also, how much are you looking to spend on an amp? lessismorespl on 05/10/2005 22:08:58 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5771461492&rd=1 Here is a Hifonics BX 1000D. But if you are running the amp @ 4ohms, you might as well get a Class A/B 2ch. amp b/c IMO running a Class D, X, T, H amp @ 4ohms would be a waste. In order to run 700 wRMS at 4ohms, you would be looking at an amp that produces 1200-1500 wRMS @ 2ohms, like the MTX 1501D which is 750 @ 4ohms and 1500 @ 2ohms, why waste all that power and perfomance, if you are set on 4ohms, use a Class A/B 2 ch and bridge it, it would not only save you a few $'s, you would be using the amp @ it's full potential. ssallstar598 on 05/11/2005 17:17:02 well i am willing to spend up to 400 (i was looking for a US amps amp...) the enclosure is monstrosically (is that a word?) huge, its 4 foot by 3 foot and 18 inches tall and the sub is firing upards w/ a port tuned to 18 hz (ooooooo sooooo looooooow..... finally....)
