I would like to get some people's opnions and recommendations on the type of sub's I should consider on buying. I wouldn't mind spending anywhere up to around 400$ (cheaper if pos.), and I want as much spl as i can gain, and I don't care to loose a little sq. Right now I am running two Phoenix Gold Tantrum-X 10" subs that are being pushed by a Phoenix Gold 8.0:1 amp. I was going to just build a custom ported box for the two subs I have now, but I have decided to go with one "good" sub in place of those two. I would like to keep the amp I have now, and spend around 400$ (cheaper if pos.), and try keep it to a 10" if possible, but I might be able to aqueeze a 12 " (behing 1988 Toyota pick-up truck seat). I also want it to be a DVC and I will be running it at 2 ohm, and need diagram for best wiring, and was wondering if I could send double the power to my sub (amp puts 600 RMS at 2 ohm, and was wondering if I could send 600 RMS from each channel? for around 1200 RMS? or if I bridge for the two ohm, if I will be sending 600 or 1200 RMS?) So I would really appreciate everyone's suggestions on the type and which sub I should go with. Thanks Replies (1) lessismorespl on 04/28/2005 22:22:25 I believe that amp is 2ohm stable, so you would want to stick to a 4ohm DVC sub, that would give you an impedance of 2ohms and 600 wRMS from the amp. Have you looked at the Resonant engineering subs, the SE is 600 wRMS 4ohm DVC. http://www.reaudio.com You could also look at Digital Designs, they have a great rep and are very well known in the dB Drag Racing ciruit for making incredibly loud subs, in fact, they hold several world records. The DD3500 series would be in that price range. http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/default.asp Some other subs that match your amp and are in your price range would be the MTX Audio 8500, JL Audio W6, and the MMATS Pro.
