Hey guys im stuck between 3 diff. models.
Alpine IVA D310 $1,499.99, Pioneer AVH- P5700DVD $999.99, and the Clarion ProAudio VRX755VD $1,399.99.

The main things i need are touch screen, play dvds and mp3s, ipod adapter. All 3 have these.

Now i just need to know which one would be the best. Its a hard decision and i want to make the right one since im putting all this money down for one. I dont know which one help please.

all very good brands i have seen and played with the pioneer and seen the alpine. both seemed to be solid units... hoenstly this choice is more up to personaly preferance... have you had a chance to see all 3? if not i suggest finding a dealer for them and go look at them one of them may have soemthing you just dont like...

pioneer and alpine dealers should be easy to find but may not be able to see the clarion in person..

thats usualy what i do when i have a hard decision between several similar units.

clarion in-dash systems suck. i would totally rule that out. i have put in a few. they are ugly, the touchscreen display is weak, and two of them that i have worked on have been returned by the owner because they mess up.

the pioneer has limited features compared to the other two, so i would go with the alpine. you can get it for much cheaper than at crutchfield, check e-bay or something like that. i have the IVA-D300, which is the 2004 version of the one you are looking at. they are frickin awesome. excellent features, user friendly, and VERY expandable. the only downside is that is has an external brain, while the other two you are looking at have internal brains. but, that's the only complaint i have about it.

finally, the coolest feature that i like about the alpine is that it is the only dvd player that allows you to directly press the menu options while watching a dvd. the others make you navigate through a menu. i used to have a pioneer AVIC-N1 and the alpine is MUCH easier to navigate through menus, much quicker too.

GO ALPINE!!!!

Well then i will rule out the clarion. I have seen the 300 in person and it looks great so im sure the 310 is very similar. THe shop believes he'll have the 310 on display when he gets it and isnt sure about the Pioneer. SO i still have time to think before the Alpine comes out

just as an fyi alpine rarely hits thier commits for when new product is comming out....

I would still go alpine myself. I was not a big fan until I started installing them. Very depedaple, great performers...

you can already get the new alpine iva-d310 off of crutchfield, but i think most shops will start getting them around the end of may or something.

if you are spending around $1500 anyway why not just go with the $2,000 AVIC-N2 ? touch screen voice interactive navigation.
In my opinion I would rate the alpine as equal with the pioneer.
If you decide to go with the navigation unit, also look at the eclipse model as well.

the avic-n2 is the SAME THING as the avic-n1, with two exceptons:

1- XM Traffic pro re-routes you during traffic jams automatically, which is cool, but you have to subscribe to XM and is only available in select cities.

2- it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE, no matter what people claim, to completely bypass the parking brake feature that disables video when the vehicle is in motion.

bottom line, save $800 and pick up an avic-n1. they are much better, cheaper, and you can bypass them. i know some people don't believe in bypassing brake features, but if i'm spending all that money you better believe i'm watching that bad boy whenever i want.

i've had two seperate in-dash dvd / monitors over the past year (the avic-n1 and currently the alpine iva-d300) and have never even had a close call in terms of accidents. then again, i listen to satellite radio a good 95% of the time....
