How and why would i need to do this? My friend says that i need to do this with 2 12" punch p2 subs with a 980 watt power akoustic amp. They said that i need to put the subs that are 8 ohms into 4 ohms. WHY? HOW WOULD I HOOK IT UP THAT WAY?

Which Acoustic amp are you planning to use here bud?
The P-2's are 4 ohms each and rated for 200 Wrms/each. Depending on the amp model you use, there are several ways to make it work. However, we need the amp model number and perhaps a link as well.
