I wanted to know if anyone could help me build a box for a 15" kicker L7. the new model, chrome silver cone, I wanted to go vented, I want good SPL and some SQL out of, Probly 30 to 35 hz vent, I would need a box that is 4.5 cf, my trunk dimensions are 35" deep X 32" wide X 17" high. Its going into a 2000 Dodge Neon with a 1000RMS rockford fosgate amp. Thx

http://www.kicker.com/05/tech-support/manuals/manuals/04SL7%20Tech%20Brief.pdf

then goto page 29, gives exact size needed for 4.5 cubic foot box tuned to 33hz. gives all board length and widths needed. should help alot.

that box would be to big , I figured out a box without vent, 12"high, 29"wide, 29"deep, would be 4.565, but thats without vent, need help with vent

yea you can change the deminensons, you can even bend the port if you need to,

32" long
20" wide
16" deep

32x20x16=10240/1728=5.925

.42 for port displacement=5.50+276in sq for sub displacement=5.36

now after accomedating for thickness of your wood you will be under a lil bit, or you can just add .75 to all the deminesons...

now for the port im not 100% sure how to calculate it, the site shows .42 cubit foot displacement. if that is only thing that needs to be constant here this wont be a problem,

if above is true then you can take 15.25w x 3h x 16l=.42361

sounds good to me but there may be more to it than that, wait for one of the other guys with experience on this area. i have not build a ported box before so i cant help with the porting area here. sorry
