I'm considering buying this amp Infinity Reference 610a to push 2 Infinity Reference 1030w The last system I put together was a PG Tantrum 500 pushing 2 JL 12w0's. I lked the last setup and would prefer something that sounds similiar. I wa trying to go the matched amp/subs route this time. Does anyone have any experience with this particular amp? TIA. Replies (4) swez on 04/7/2005 18:55:08 The amp is pretty solid here... but those subs are not going to compare well with the JL's mentioned in SPL or SQ. If you already have the subs, follow the sub box recommendations for best performance. Swez bdtorres2 on 04/7/2005 19:26:52 Thanks for the reply about the amp. What subs would you recommend? swez on 04/7/2005 20:13:41 Many have found the Alpine Type R's are superb. The Infinity subs mentioned are not a bad sub... just not a JL quality product or price. How much are you willing to spend on a sub set? That amp is fine and will push most good subs to full potential. The gear is generally ~30% of the outcome. The 70% is design and install techniques. If you have the subs, try to make the best enclosure design possible for your subs and see if you are satisfied. The big vehicle cargo area will definitely give any subs a boost due to "cabin gain" . The question is, what kind of music do you like best? That will help figure out the best approach on box design and install locations. Comments? Swez PS After having some pretty decent subs (JL's) this will be a test of your box and install abilities, to get the performance in the previous install. Now that I think of it, the W0 series is the lower end of JL's line. You might just pull this one off with what you have mentioned already. trunkisloud on 04/7/2005 20:34:30 speaking from experience...the type r's are definately awesome....i owned a pair with a bazooka 600 watt on each speaker....they handle power and can move like a stripper....
