i have a kenwood mono amp [300X1] powering two 10" bazookas, and it has had a problem for a while now. usually, out of no where the subs would stop playing but everything else would be fine. when i checked on the amp, it would be powered on but sending no signal to the subs. normally, a couple light taps on the amp would fix the problem for a while but that does not work so well now. any ideas besides get a new amp? THINK

the RCA cables might be getting interference with your battery (are they running next to each other because the RCA cables act as antennas basically and the power running through the battery cable can interfere w/ the signal) could also be a ground issue - is your ground grounded to your chasis good?

let me know if anything here sounds about right

Do you know the model number? Some of the older Kenwood amps(99,00,01) were notorious for the RCA inputs shorting out w/out warning, this would not make the amp stop working, it just would not be receiving a signal to reproduce. Was there any noise before it started doing this(knd of a whine)? With the newer Kenwoods, they fixed the problem and did some real nice technical upgrades. I'm sure you checked your subs to make sure the amp is not going into protection mode right? Another thing may be the HU's RCA preouts, they may be damaged or shorting out also, and also check your RCA cables. From the description yu have given, it seems that the amp is on and working, just not putting out a signal, so in most cases it means it is not receiving one.
