6 x 8's are for ford.

I believe you are correct but check out crutchfield.com for the exact size.

Yes, 6X8's are for Fords, I know, I have a Ford. In all actuality, why would you want 6X8's rather than 6X9's, they run about the same in price and you know the 6X9's fit. With a little inginuity and effort, you can ALMOST make any speaker fit into a given space, however, unless you are using components...why bother.

if i were you id look at some infinity kappa 6x9's they usually run about $119 for a set but they are the best money can buy (in my opinion and probably several other peoples opinions)

Well see the reason i wanted do know if it woudl work is because im getting all JL speakers for the hell of it and ive had really good luck with them, and i want to get the new Coxails, but they are 6x8 instead of 6x9, and the JL 6x9's are only 2way or 3way

I would not say Infinity Kappa are the best money can buy, honestly, I would not say any speaker is the best money can buy. Infinity are ok speakers, but there is not difference between them and JBL, Pioneer, Kenwood, or even Polk. In all honesty, the Polks are probably the best buy for the money b/c my experience w/ Infinity is they drastically over rate their speakers. Depending on the version of JL you are buying, there is no difference between the 5X7/6X8 and 6X9's. The components have some slight differences, but the coaxials are pretty much the same. Try looking at the XR 6X9's.

They dont make XR 6x9's they just have the 5x7/6x8 for the XR's, well i know i can get them to work, because ne thing is posible as long as you know what your doing.

I know JL makes the TR and VR in 6x9's. As I said earlier, you can make anything work w/ some thought and a little effort.

ya that was my thought too, i can make ne thing work if i really want it to but thanks for the help.
