stereo setup in '91 tracker

alrite guys now that sping has come rolling along (and i finally have a little money to work with) i have decided to put a new stereo in my tracker. i already have installed the deck i bought for my last truck that i am still in love with its an alpine CDA-7893. i was planning to replace the factory 4" speakers in the dash with either these:

or a pair of clarion 4" speakers that i might be able to get from a freind though its not really a sure thing. in my tracker that is the only stock location for speakers so i plan to build enclosures that go in beside the rear seat back rest and above the wheel well. there isn't a whole lot of space in between there so i was just going to go with another set of 4" speakers or else this pair of 4"x6" speakers:

there really isn't a whole lot of selection where i live and i've had good experiences with pioneer speakers, so even if i don't get the clarion speakers i think that those will be the speakers i use running off my HU unless anyone could tell me why i shouldn't use those speakers.

now for the sub setup i've built a ported enclosure that will house 2 alpine 10" 2+2 ohm dvc type s subs as soon as i can get the money together. for now i will have 2 orion XTR3 10" subs. the amp that i have that i would like to use is the clarion APX400.2 which as i am aware isn't a very big amp for 2 subs but i can't have that much draw from my stock electricals and i am not yet prepared to upgrade those, i am not going for the loudest system i just want something that will sound good but still not be overly expensive.

i wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions or ideas about what i could do differently to get better sound for about the same price. also i was curious as to whether speaker box size has that much impact on sound, i know it plays a huge role with subwoofers but does it really matter how much airspace i have for speakers, its not as though i'm trying to get any bass out of them and i can't picture a 4" speaker moving that much air....

if anyone has any suggestions they'd be greatly appreciated.
