installing a stereo om a buddies car and i spliced into the currenct harness from another cd player that was working just fine. when i connect the cd is starts to smoke and i instantly unplug it and the fuse blows. i checked the yellow red and black to see if they were connected proper from the last harness and they all worked just fine. only think i am thinking is that the power is comming in and the ground isnt good enough so the power isnt escaping proper. Please help as soon as possible. would rather not catch my buddies car of fire. thanks alot Replies (2) swez on 03/31/2005 06:09:33 Smoke means too much current, incorrect wiring or a short circuit has appeared in that circuit. Must have mis-wired the new CD player somehow. Double check your pinouts from old harness to new player as they may be different. A poor ground should not cause this as this would create an open or high resistance circuit and low or no voltage/current would flow in the system. With some luck, the new player was not fried in the process. Swez snipe523 on 03/31/2005 19:52:03 what he said ^^^ Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
