Hey I am looking to install a jl audio 12w3v2 in my car and am looking for some opinions or recommendations on a monoamplifier to power it. The one I had in mind was the jl audio 500/1 slash series, but I am open for opinion so if you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks Replies (2) swez on 03/29/2005 16:19:26 Might want to look at Alpine's MRD-D605 Class D Mono amp too. Can get this one of the net for under $300.00. http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?icatid=306&stk_code=alpmrdm605&svbname=16 Nice electronics, menu driven setup is easy and plenty of power too. That's 600 Wrms @ 2 ohms. The more I have researched Alpine products, the more respect I have gained for them. Not that JL is a slouch... just a bit pricey, unless you have a connection. JL amps are pricey, which is why I went w/ Diamond Audio, they are somewhat cheaper, my personal experiences with them have been great. I run a 600.1 @ 1ohm and the performance is excellent.
