I've been looking at the alpine MRP-M350 amp. the specs are: 350 W RMS @ 2 ohms (14.4v) .3% THD 200 W RMS @ 4 ohms (14.4v) .08% THD okay most cars don't have a 14.4 v rating right? so would that mean that it would be 315 W @ 2 ohms and like 157 W @ 4 ohms? (if the car has a 12.9V rating) I took a look at the article of determing the rms of an amplifier so i'm trying to figure out if i did this right? Voltage not withstanding, car amps can make up for low voltage and just draw more current to reach full potential if there is enough current avalable. Any way you slice it, nice amp. Swez sounds on 03/29/2005 14:56:55 alright then it should be able to meet my goals because right now i'm using an old pioneer sub that is 4 ohms and is 100 W RMS and I'm gonna upgrade it to either an Alpine type R swr-1041d or a JL Audio 10W3v2 when I get the money and both of them are 300 W RMS swez on 03/29/2005 16:02:46 The Alpine Type R is a very good match for this amp. One of our guys is running a pair of 10", type R (2+2) DVC's off a M301 with great results. These can be had for under $180.00 a set off E-bay. If you are planning for a single sub, the 1041D or 1241D are the proper choices. Need a net 2 ohm load for max amping power to sub. JL's are great subs too... especially if you can get them at a fair price. Good luck, Swez alanjlamore on 03/29/2005 16:22:32 I went with the infinity perfect 10.1 and love it. I was debating between the Alpine type R and this one and went with the infinity. Slightly higher power handling (350 rms) with the infinity and the sealed box recomendations is .6 cubic feet; 1 cubic foot for ported. Both great subs IMO sounds on 03/30/2005 02:00:15 the infinity perfect 10.1 looks like a good sub. I'm planning on getting the Infinity Kappa 652.5i for my front and rear speakers. My only concern would be underpowering that subwoofer. I already have a sealed box that is 1 cu ft, so I would think it would probably meet the requirement for the alpine 1041d better than the infinity. But thanks for the reccomendation.
