Hey folks, Not sure if this is a well know fix, but it works. When posting long links to the forum, it can change the viewing characteristics of a given link. We get a wide screen effect that is hard to read and we have to constantly shift from left to right in order to read the whole post. This kind of link will produce a wide screen: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6221064&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat54900050004&id=1069299397134 However, if we break up the link into smaller segments, the normal screen view will result. Try this format instead: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp? skuId=6221064&type=product&product CategoryId=pcmcat54900050004&id= 1069299397134 Hope that helps. It's a pain, reading long posts on wide view screen formats. Help us to serve you better and make our work a lot easier. Thanks, Swez COFFEE Replies (8) Pinch on 03/22/2005 10:01:26 The thing is, Swez, when you do that you can no longer copy and paste the link into a browser because there are carriage returns breaking up each segment. Try copying the second link you posted and pasting it into a new window. Can you turn up your resolution a bit? If you're having to scroll left to right to read any of that above, you are probably on like 640X480 or something. Perhaps 1024X768 or higher if your monitor supports it. Pinch sounds on 03/22/2005 10:10:40 another alternative is to use hyperlink... don't know if alot of you know how to use it. would make things more easier. a href="http://www.thezeb.com"The Zeb/a add a less than sign before "a" at the beginning and another one before the "/" and a greater than sign between the " and T and at the end of the line (last a) don't know why that didnt show up hopefully that makes sense sounds on 03/22/2005 10:16:14 The Zeb ttocs on 03/22/2005 13:14:41 he can't read that small..... His long flowing golden hair get in the way.... swez on 03/23/2005 10:39:28 I like the technique used by Sounds. That worked! Many times, I have used the above noted link adjustments and they worked. This one did not. Have tried changing my monitor resolution settings and they just did not work well enough at that setting. I use 800 x 600 now. Just changed to your recommendation. It seems to work OK... just a bit smaller fonts is all. Good nuff though.... if I get those blond curles out of my face. May need to get stronger reading glasses too... dang! It's hell getting older! GRIN Thanks for the links tip, Swez Victor on 03/23/2005 11:31:28 Dave...!You need specs just like mike does.. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha,,,,,, lol.. cant stop laughing..hehe swez on 03/24/2005 18:05:24 Somebody stop me... as I'm a gonna slap Victor again soon. Be respectful of your elders there Mr. wet-behind-the-ears! Yeah, I tried the recommended resolution settings mentioned. It changed my screen layout to a degree where I could not access bottom of page command buttons in the control panel. Finally returned settings to 800 x 600. Like much better this way. Swez PS Victor, I do have specs for reading only. My long distance and night vision are still excellent. Wait till you get near 40... then you will understand..... SLAP! Victor on 06/13/2008 18:56:42 Hey dave.... forget reaching 40... i already got em.... lol... but not for reading though.... got myopia of -1.0 D... Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
