"universal" kick panels, so much cheaper?

I just lost a bid on some kick panels for my dodge dakota (Qform) and I saw a lot of so called universal kick panels on ebay and other places.

I don't know if I could trust these to fit easily into my truck, or if I'd be able to put my CDT 6.5" components in them.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks,

Oh yea, by the way, the kick panels I did find for my truck are from cardomain.com for $129.00 so if anyone knows where I can find them cheaper that would be a big help too.

Ehhh I'd be leary of buying anything anything that said "universal" especially in the auto industry. And being that it says "universal kick panel" I wouldnt give it a time of day. Every Automobile has different dimensions and forms for the kick to mold to. Thats why Q forms has so many different models for different cars.

Universal means 1 thing here it means your likly going to have to cut the kick pannel into the shape to fit your car.... you might as well build your own if your going to have to modifiy the one they are saling..

basicaly you get what you pay for just keep that in mind when you find soemthing that is half the price of the ones that defiantly fit

Thanks, good points. I'll keep looking on ebay for a while, then if I don't find any there for my Dakota, I'll just buy them from cardomain.

I keep going back and forth trying to decide on what to buy first, kicks or an amp to power my subs right (they're being grossly underpowered right now).

I was also thinking of just buying an amp for one of my subs and saving $100ish, then put my one sub in a ported box instead of sealed. I just wish I could listen to my sub in a sealed and ported box to compare.

If I do get the smaller amp, I lose about 3db, then gain about 3db with the ported box and would have more money left over for the kick panels...
